Escape
I too (like Jen) am reading Escape by Carolyn Jessop (actually its her book). It is one of the most compelling books I've ever read, aside from Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I highly recommend this book if you have any interest in the polygamist movement. It is so hard for me to believe that this is actually happening in our country right now as we speak.

Hard to believe April is almost over. Glad to hear it! April was a doosey! May should be much better. This Sat we go to Dollywood and it's Nate's big day! I can't believe how old he is getting! I follow close behind him. So sad.
Our first night back "in". Hank was sad because he had to wear socks. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen - him trying to walk with socks on a slick floor. It was a laugh we desperately needed.
Our house is (pretty much) back in order. I feel so much better. I don't do well in chaos.
We had Jen's Thirty-One party last night. Not as many turned out as we had hoped but we had a nice evening. I enjoy being a hostess - never been one before. It's enjoyable.

Today's The Day!
We get to get back into our house today! I can't wait!!! I haven't been over there since Wednesday night and even then we couldn't go inside (wet floors).

We couldn't go inside so we had to just stand at the front door and take pictures. This is the living room and you can see the dining room in the background. You can really see the shine over by the window with the sunshine coming through - it's so beautiful!!!!

SO Wrong. So Very Very Wrong
American Idol sucks. I'm never watching it again.
Carly's gone and stupid "dreads" is still in. Brooke White forgot her words, Syiesha sounds like "other" past American Idol contestants. David Cook looks weird. The little guy - what's his name - is annoying and sounds THE SAME EVERY WEEK!
I'm mad. Never watching American Idol again. It's stupid.

Looks like we'll be sleeping in our house tomorrow night. Ahhhh..... lovely! I can't wait! I will have pictures up as soon as possible.
We have to get mittens or something for Hank to wear for the first couple of days. Sox or something. And NO SHOES, People, NO SHOES!
It seems like this has taken forever, but I know it'll be worth it the first time I mop and five minutes later you can still tell. Ahhh the shine! I can't wait for the shine! And it'll actually look clean in my house! YEAH! Before it looked like I never mopped no matter how many times I did.
And this is a beautiful barn. I just thought it was lovely so I thought I would share with you all.
Jen's 'Thirty One' party is Tuesday at our house! That's going to be fun! Honestly, I'm looking forward to showing off my floors! ha! ha!

Oh boy...
We'll be going to Dollywood in a week and two days (also Nathan's birthday) and then in two weeks and two days - The Concert! I can't wait!

We stopped by the house again last night. It is amazing! They put the first coat of shiney stuff (I think it's polyurithan sp?) on yesterday. They have two more coats to go...and then we can move back in!!! YEAH! It really looks wonderful! We couldn't go all the way inside - we just peaked in bc it was still wet. We took lots of pictures but I dont have my camera cord to upload the pictures with me. Maybe tonight at Matt and Jen's I can work on that. It's really exciting!
I can't wait to get back home. We REALLY appreciate Matt and Jen letting us live with them for a week, but we're still ready to get back home. Madison's probably more ready then any of us - every morning she says, "Is that Beth?" Is she STILL here??? HA HA HA! We've messed her routine up. It won't be long, little one, and we'll be outta your hair!

Cheaters Never Win/ Winners never Cheat
As I said before, today was the Office Olympics. I am proud to say our team brought home a Silver metal.
I believe we would have done better had Justin (a paralegal here) hadn't cheated.
You see, we both were in the "Fold, Stuff, Lick" competition. As the whistle sounded the beginning of the event, Justin knocked all of my envelopes onto the floor. I couldn't find any of them. I was a wreck.
I got myself together and pushed forward through the obstacle.
Luckily, the judges saw through his scheme and disqualified him. I came in second.
I am still not over this however.
I demand a rematch.
No one has said whether or not this will take place. But I'm ready anytime and place.

Ok. so "The Floor Guy", as we call him, is coming Sunday morning to start! SUCH GOOD NEWS! This means NO hotel (more money staying where it should) and we have all day Saturday to finish up this MESS! WOW! I hope it only takes him like a day. Which is VERY optimistic.
But that's kind of my thing...that's what I do.

Wow.
Boy, what a month April is turning out to be! I feel like EVERYTHING is happening at once!
Last week we had to be all of our bow stuff together for the Duck Duck Goose sale, which was a bust. Oh well.
Then we started moving all of our stuff to the basement and in all the nooks and crannies of our house so we can get our floors done next week. I had no idea we had so much stuff. No idea. Where'd it all come from? Who put it in my house??
We'll be staying in a hotel this weekend (whilest Amy and her main squeeze are in town.) And then "moving in" with Matt, Jen and Madison for a few days. Should be interesting to say the least.
Ok, and then... we have this new business venture with Lucky Duck we're trying to get started. I've been working on a "bow keeper" for that and Jen and I have to get crackalackin' on some bows to send to LeeAnn next week. Oh wow.
And there are some other things here and there that have to get started and finished.
And oh yeah, LIFE. Life is going on. We still have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, go to work and pay bills.
I feel like I'm too young to feel so old already. And I hear it only gets crazier. Oh boy. Can't wait.
So, to all you young whipersnapers out there - assuming anyone younger then me reads this - Don't say "I can't wait to grow up." You have no idea what you're saying. Stay as young as you can for as long as you can. Enjoy it bc you'll never get it back.

Ok firstly I would like to say to you all - if you ever get a chance or need to use Vista Print online to order business cards or any other stationary - DON'T!!! They will withdrawl money from your account without any authorization from you!!! SAY NO TO VISTA PRINT!
Next I would like to discuss Idol and how bummed I am that Michael Johns went home last night and how mean Seacrest was to say "Last year at this point in the game we didn't eliminate anyone-(long pause)--- but tonight we are saying goodbye to Michael Johns." Did you see the hope in Michael's face.... It was SOOO SAD! I am very upset. I feel like Kristy Lee Pee Pee Pants should have gone home a long time ago. She sucks and she gets on my nervous - two VERY good reasons to send her home I think.
Lastly, I would like to talk about The Office and how wonderful it is. I love this show. I love everything about it. It makes me laugh when nothing else can. Jim and Pam are my heros. They are so awesome. I also would like to say Jan is crazy. Very crazy. But you would have to be to date Michael.

So here we are...
Ok. So "Dreads" did well last night - I'll give that one to you, Mom. I really like that rendition of the song.
Jen and I had our meeting with LeeAnn of Lucky Duck consignments yesterday. It went REALLY well. Better then we thought actually. After having to turn around 75 times, we were able to locate the house. She seems really lovely and is willing to kind of let us do "our thing" She'll probably end up being our biggest costumer. She's already purchased a "bow keeper" for her daughter. I just have to get crackalacklin' on it!!! We're very excited about it!!!
Pray for Matt as he works out of town for a few days. Pray for Jen and Madison's strength as they miss "daddy".
Nathan finally got moved into his office in Knoxville. I think he likes it a lot. He even has a 1970s camel colored pleather couch in his office. Very impressive!!!

Happy Friday to you all!
Here we are in Tennessee and it's Friday again. A rainy Friday. I know rain is good for the farmers and others but it really sucks for the construction world! Please pray for beautiful sunny skies next week! Enough of this gloomy crap!

She hung on too long...
Finally she's gone. She was around far too long. She's a fine young lady, but doesn't belong on the show. Now if we could just get rid of 'Dreads' and that curly haired girl who thinks she's just the funniest thing ever - we'd have ourselves some entertainment.
And who didn't just LOVE Dolly on Idol? She's GREAT! Who else can get away with wearing such amazing outfits!? No one I tell you. No one! I love that song too - "Jesus and Gravity". And she apparently thinks VERY highly of Simon - she just went on and on! HA! LOVE HER!

SHHHUUUU WEEEEE!!!
Welp, we moved Matt and Jen and Maddie into their house yesterday. Weren't going to get it all, but why not - right?? We worked hard, including Madison, who carried her share. We probably looked like the Beverly Hillbillies, especially Matt, crossing Alcoa Highway 73,000 times!! Not my favorite part of the day. I must say - I was quite tired last evening.
They're in there now and settling in. Just a few things left at the apartment - and that'll be that. They spent their first night there last night. Hopefully things went well.
We had a terrible bout of sickness run through our house this past week/weekend, but we're all feeling much better now - thank goodness!
WHO SAW AMERICAN IDOL!? Oh MY! Dolly was on! She is soooo amazing! Who else would wear a silver dress and a tiara? She's so lovely! I thought it was a great episode - Carly still my favorite, did a great job. I also enjoyed Michael Johns (the guy with the english accent). Didn't get to see Brooke White, another of my favorites but hopefully she did well.
